DeKalb County CASA
Welcome to DeKalb County CASA! The DeKalb County CASA Program was started in 1990 to serve the Stone Mountain Judicial Circuit.
Founded by a Child Advocate Attorney, it operated as a part-time program directly under the supervision of the Child Advocate Office for nearly 7 years. It was staffed by MSW interns as their practicum site. In 1997, with the approval of a grant from National CASA, the program became full time.
Dekalb County CASA operates under the umbrella of the Child Advocate Network, Inc., as a private, non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization.

"You can't control where abused children come from, but you can have something to do with where they end up."
The growth since our earliest days has been extraordinary. The role of our CASA volunteers has been an integral part of that growth.
From August 2012 to August 2013, 245 children have been served by DeKalb County CASA Volunteers and approximately 125 volunteers have actively worked cases within this time period.
We, at DeKalb County CASA, look forward to working with you and welcome your thoughts and suggestions on how we can make volunteering an even more rewarding experience.
Thank you so much for the continued support of our sponsors and donors. Thank you for believing in our cause and our children!
We will always remember the Honorable Judge Elliott A. Shoenthal. He was a CASA Champion...A CASA Gladiator. You will be forever missed.
